Church Leadership

St. John’s is blessed with many dedicated people that serve the church in many different capacities.  Here are those who are currently serving the church as staff and/or consistory members.  Learn a little bit about the familiar faces you see on Sundays.

Consistory meets at 7:00 p.m. on the last Monday of every month (unless otherwise noted on that month’s calendar) in the social hall of the church.  All church members are welcome to attend.

Organist: Mrs. Beth Ann Griffiths
Beth Ann graduated from Kutztown State College (now Kutztown University of Pennsylvania) with a master’s degree in Education.  She taught in the Pine Grove Area School District for over 35 years before she retired a few years ago.  Beth Ann started in her position as organist for St. John’s in 2007, and her favorite hymn is “I The Lord of Sea and Sky (Here I Am, Lord).”  She enjoys reading, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.  Beth Ann lives in Tremont, PA.

Choir Director: Mrs. Louise Walmer
A resident of Fredericksburg for over fifty years, Louise was baptized, confirmed, and married in this congregation where several generations of her family continue to worship.  She has shared her musical gifts with St. John’s for many years since she started singing in the junior choir; she has played piano for Sunday School since 1963 and has played the organ during worship services at various times throughout the years.  In the 1970’s Louise directed the junior choir and has assisted with the music portions of many children’s programs over the years.  In 1997 she started directing the senior choir.  Louise enjoys travelling, especially on a cruise ship or with her family, and reading.  Her favorite hymn is “Holy, Holy, Holy,” and her favorite scripture is Psalm 30:5: “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”
